What is Rock Ed?
Filipinos are among the most skilled, talented, and loving people in the world. That’s why we work so hard to get good grades and feed our families. Now, imagine if we used this passion to help our nation.
All of us want to build a better Philippines — a Philippines where there’s no hunger; where children can play safely on the streets and crime is not a way of life. Now, all we need to know is where to start.
About Rock Ed
That’s where Rock Ed comes in. Rock Ed began in 2005 as a ten-year project to get Filipinos interested in nation-building. Today, we’re ready to take this awareness and transform it into action.
Rock Ed links Filipinos from all walks of life with causes that they are interested in. See, each of us have something we’re skilled at. Good at music? Uplift calamity victims. Good at business? Teach mothers how to save. No matter what it is, we can use our expertise to build the country.
How Rock Ed works
When you sign up for Rock Ed, you’re assigned projects that fit your interests and expertise. These projects come from NGOs and other Rock Ed members. You’ll see these projects on this website, and our Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr. To volunteer for a project, simply reply to it. The project proponent will then coordinate directly with you.
If you’re starting an initiative yourself, post it here and Rock Ed volunteers will answer your call. This site also allows you to send free text brigades to volunteers in your network — a feature that’s especially useful in times of emergency.
