What are the Millenium Development Goals?
In the year 2000, the United Nations named eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), which 192 UN member states — including The Philippines — have agreed to achieve by 2015.
These goals include eradicating extreme poverty, reducing child mortality rates, fighting epidemics such as AIDS, and developing a global partnership for development.
A 2010 report shows that the Philippines is missing its targets in eradicating poverty, improving education and improving maternal health. But there’s hope. We just have to act now.
Above, you’ll see a handy chart of the eight MDGs. All Rock Ed projects fall along these goals. Join us today, and we’ll help you find fun projects that fit your interests and expertise.
Together, we can change the Philippines, one little project at a time.
